Well, you have to be happy when at least there is a little justice in the world. It seems like there has been an array of activity criticizing outgoing US President George Bush recently. I believe it was the Democratic Majority leader who said that Bush may have been the worst President the US ever had. (That’s probably too harsh. It would be fair perhaps to say that he was the worst in the 20th and 21st centuries.)
Then I hear that one of my family members will be holding a party where effigies of Bush will be burned, only after they throw things at the effigy.
Is this, like, happening all over the United States? All over the US effigies of George Bush are being burned in catharsis to dissolve rage over years of stress, fear, brainwashing and lost income?
I can certainly vouch that Bush was very much not liked almost everywhere I have been overseas, but doubt if his leaving office will be noted so fervently with parties and the like in other countries.
So its nice that a President who did so much harm is having to suffer the ignominy and humiliation of going out of office this way. Sadly I don’t think it will ever be enough to repay for the kind of problems and suffering which I think he and his administration have caused. Humiliation and being remembered as a bad President is some justice, but not a complete, or even substantial justice in the face what has happened. Which reminds me of the question I asked earlier this year- “Is George Bush going to heaven?” Perhaps there is still hope for some other kind of justice for Mr. Bush. : )
In a few more days we’ll have Obama, but all of the euphoria will most likely be tempered by realism after a few months. I’m sure Obama will be a positive change, but we’ll have to wait and see how much he can accomplish. Let’s hope for the best!

A better place for George W Bush is hell. I think American people have made a mistake to choose George W Bush as president for 8 years. George W Bush is a STUPID president in American president history. He never use his brain to do anything!!!
In his mind there are always WAR, ATTACK and TERRORIST but he and also American people never realized that the real terrorist is George W Bush. He is the real monster!!!
I am not hoping too much to Barack Obama. just wait and see…………

Erni,
Thanks for your comment! I’m glad you wrote this because if any US citizens read this maybe it will give them some idea how much Bush is disliked outside the USA.
I think you might be surprised how much diversity of opinion there is in the US. I’m sure many US citizens over the last few years have referred to Bush as a terrorist. I’m not sure if, technically, he would be considered one, but I understand the spirit of what you are saying.
I, also, struggle to understand why the US public elected Bush. Especially for people who have never been to the US, it must be difficult to understand. There are reasons, but they’re complicated and have to do with US political culture.
Personally I’m a little less extreme than you, because I don’t think that Bush is the only “terrorist”- this has been a two sided conflict, and there have been people from the Al Qaeda side and the various groups in Iraq that have also done very bad things. Personally I think that the people of the world have been kind of stuck between two groups of somewhat extreme people- the Bush administration and the terrorists themselves, since 2001.
Thanks for sharing your thoughts!
